I think the main reason this camera is so cheap is because it uses flash memory and is made by a not so well known company. Before purchasing, several online reviews (outside of Amazon) and retail employees told me this camera was only good for dirty youtube style videos. Quite frankly, I've never seen a camcorder that didn't have that look to me. It really has more to do with lighting than anything, no matter what camera. This camera actually looks WAY better to me than the 640x480 Sony camcorder I had before it (which I paid over $500 for at the time).

This camera has all the features most people could ever need in a camera. It is easy to use. The only single problem I've found with it so far is that the case scratches very easily. It will probably look like hell after a few weeks-months of use, but as long as it still works the same, it was worth saving at least $500 over the next 1080p camcorder.

extremely easy to use. great features, especially with AV IN. plugged my bullet cam in and it worked like a charm. though product feels cheap, can't complain especially when it's at a great price. not recommended for night shots though, no matter how much lighting you have...
battery life is not great, so always bring an extra one if you're gonna be out the whole day...

Unfortunately, for me, the price WAS too good to be true. I was very excited about the 1080P prodcut for the price. Unfortunatly during my first recording, I noticed a great deal of noise garbage feedback in the recording. I double checked the playback from my tv and a computer to double check that it wasn't the "player" . Unfortunatetly it was not and I had to return it an bought a $500.00+ sony. I did receive a full refund through the amazon seller, however, hence the two stars.

This product is good for the price--but has many limitations. When I hooked it up direct to my HD1080P television with the component cable, the picture was more like 480P than 1080P. Also, I was not able to download to my PC without problems(playback was jerky or skipped frames). I used several software packages(some recommended by the Mfg) and still was not successful. Since I could not download to my PC, then that prevented me from doing what I bought the camera for and that was to download to a DVD to be played back on my DVD player. I sent the camera back to Amazon and they gave me a refund. As a side note, I discovered during all this that there is going to be format problems with various HD cameras being compatiable with PC's, DVD players, etc. So good luck......
