This item has so many design flaws that I don’t know where to begin. It looks pretty much like an actual iPod Shuffle, but that is where the similarity ends. It is extremely difficult to determine if it is ON or OFF since it displays a dim yellow light when ON. It also turns itself off after 30 seconds if you don’t take a picture, start capturing video, or listen to mp3 music.
Under bright sunlight, forget about seeing the yellow ON light. There is a 2-3 second delay after you press the shutter to take a picture! There’s a very dim blue light that displays to let you know it is processing your action (ie. recording video or stills). Forget about seeing this light outdoors! The earbuds look like iPod earbuds but feel very flimsy. I could not get the right earbud to play unless I pushed really hard on the plug in the input jack…and held it there. As soon as I released pressure on the plug, the right channel would go dead.
Recording video under bright sunlight looked great…while it lasted! Didn’t get much chance to use the camera in bright sunlight so can’t say how well the pics would have turned out. The device also froze a few times. The RESET hole worked a few times and then stopped working. After only 3 or 4 days of use, the device froze permanently. The blue light blinked constantly and the RESET button didn’t help. I finally took the thing apart to find the RESET button. I found it but it was shattered apparently from being pressed too hard!
I basically paid $50 for a 4GB MicroSD chip and SD Reader. The earbuds are worthless as is the device! I would never purchase another one without a Very Good Warranty to go along with it! As I mentioned, the video was acceptable, when it worked! I don’t know where this device was made, but Quality Control and Quality Assurance was definitely not important!!!
