Unfortunately this didn’t work well for me. I just got CX500V and this carrying case today. It’s really pretty and stylish, but here
is why I returned after first try:-
* The camcoder fits perfectly and has little more room for additional battery, but since I dont have additional battery
I thought I can put the small remote in it, oops, sorry, too tall, you can’t close it. Well let me put the USB cable
that came with camcoder, sorry again, its so compact that it fits *ONLY* Camcoder, battery, and may be some memory sticks.
* Well, when I started thinking is it really worth to pay $43 for this to just carry the camcoder alone, then comes the
worst part when I tried put the camera back into the bag hanging on my shoulder using one hand (bcos I had another bag
in the other hand),the flap was too hard to keep it open with one hand and slide the camcoder in. I have to put other stuff
down and use both hands to put camcoder back. And the camcoder has to go in a specific direction only.
I gave up and returned it today and bought Sony LCS-X20 ( I wish I have seen this in my earlier searches,
strange that amazon didnt show this along CX500V!?) which has very nice partition to slide in the Camcoder and the
easy open flap is covenient for single hand usage. It also has good enough room to keep remote, power card, manual etc.
(Now I realize that if I dont keep them together, its very likely they can get misplaced/forgotten somewhere, isn’t it?)
I hope this helps to decide which one you need.

This Sony Camcorder Case is different from any other I have used. The camcorder fits snugly inside without shifting. Once the fold over flap is closed the entire case is like a clamshell. Very protective but easy to open, remove the camera and easy to fit the camera back in and close. This is a wonderful addition to your travel kit- easy to carry, easy to use, great protection, and sharp looking! Of course, everyone will have another bag to carry lenses, spare batteries, etc. This baby is ready for a day trip to Santorini on the back of a motor-scooter!

My Sony CX520V Camcorder fits nicely into the Sony LCMAX1 Carrying case. It also will hold a spare battery and two memory sticks. What I find most useful is that the case is easy to open, the camera fits into the case securely and snugly, and the case is quite stylish. I had two very small quibbles however.
My first quibble was that the pockets for the memory sticks in the carrying case are only large enough to fit the memory sticks themselves and not the protective plastic carrying cases that memory sticks usually come in. Without the protection of the plastic cases the memory sticks’ copper contacts come into contact with the soft lining of the camcorder’s carrying case which could potentially cause memory-loss problems resultant from static electricity and/or perhaps small scratches.
My second quibble is that while the protective nature of the case makes your camcorder quite secure, the case is too big to fit into a jacket pocket, etc, as I found out when I recently went skiing. For general sightseeing, however, the case is superb, offering excellent protection, ease of access and great style.
