Sad to say this new lens still creeps
the lock only works at 18mm which to me is useless since when the lens is down to 18mm there is no creeping.

This is quite the versatile lens. From wide angle to the telephoto it handles most of the pics I want to take. The only two drawbacks are the higher f-stop, which makes low light a little more challenging (but the vr system just about makes that a non-issue); and the bulkiness and weight. I actually bought this for my wife, and she loves it!
