This bag is way too heavy, I like to have my camera around with all my lenses and stuff but this is impossible to carry for a long time!

I bought this bag so I could caryy both my laptop computer and Nikon D3000 SLR with multipul lenses. Boy did I screw up! first this bag will carry alot of gear, however if you want to get to your camera in a hurry, you might as well forget it! I’ve lost countless shots because of this bag I absoloutly Hate It! To get your camera out you have to unzipp the camera compartment and the bag basicly folds in half! making the bag very unstable, that it needs to be sitting on a table or similar surface to get your camera out safely! The only thing this bag is good for is taking all your valuable electronics through the airport as a carry on bag!

I purchased this bag for a 2 week trip to Hong Kong. My criteria for it was that it has to 1) carry all my camera gear 2) carry all my other misc. things (electronics, bottle of water, some in-flight entertainment and laptop) and 3) look like a regular backpack.
This backpack did all of the above superbly. In fact, I ran out of things to stuff in its seemingly never ending supply of pockets and compartments. It looked normal enough not hint at the precious goods inside and felt nice and sturdy on my back.
All this said this passed my initial criteria with flying colors. The problem became a little more apparent when the actual trip began. This bag is huge. If it looks big already, you’ll be reminded again when you board the plane and try to jam it into the overhead compartment. Anything less than a 747 or Airbus and you won’t have a chance with the overhead storage. Second reminder came when I decided to bring it along with me on my exploration of the city which involves lots of walking and subway riding. Unfortunately, after a day, I gave up and ended up slinging the camera on my shoulder and shoving my pockets full of the other stuff. This backpack is heavier than I had imagined. Anything more than 15 minutes of carrying this and your shoulders begin to hurt. I found myself taking it off every 20 minutes or so from the weight.
I would recommend this bag as a nice sturdy way of transporting your gear on the plane. Other than that, I found myself always wanting something lighter during the whole trip.

I’m pretty sure this bag will outlast me–and I’m not even 25. The material seems to be incredibly durable. All the straps help make it very comfortable and I have no doubt that my equipment (camera, laptop, etc) is well protected inside of it. So far, the biggest trip I spent with it was a weekend in Orlando. I had no problem taking it on the airplane with me, and it was very comfortable as I walked around downtown Orlando for about 5 hours.
If you want to be able to hold your laptop and your camera–this is the bag. It’s expensive, but totally worth it.

I bought this bag as well as the “AW 17 Inch LAPTOP SLR Photo Video Digital Camera Backpack Bag 200mm LENS-Free Raincover” for direct comparison. I knew I would return one, but they both looked like a compelling buy.
I was especially looking forward to the Wolverine BP202 Backpack because I liked that it was made of canvas with the appearance of an adventure field pack. But upon receiving it, I was disappointed in the workmanship, difficult zippers, lack of symmetry and relatively little interior room for such a deceptively large exterior appearance.
The camera storage section was difficult to access and would not accommodate all of my most frequently-used equipment: Nikon D700 with 24-70mm AF-S lens and Nikon MB-210 battery pack, a separate Nikon 17-35mm AF-S lens, a Nikon SB900 Speedlight, Nikon SB-26 flash (now used as a slave). Forget about a second camera body, e.g., Nikon D300. The laptop sleeve did accept my 13″ HP, but the zipper did not make it easy.
The fit was bulky and even with all straps fully extended, the main strap with the reinforced hip pads fit around my diaphragm, not my waist. The dinky little chest strap was a pathetic effort. I am a 6′1″ 220lb. male.
Rugged appearance was not enough and I am returning The Wolverine without hesitation.
