The first one arrived and didn’t work. The second didn’t either. The fact that today there are only two reviews when last month there were a dozen makes me wonder.

This unit is a stereo slave amplifier and speaker for the Proton RS-330 radio. It also comes boxed and labelled as Proton, not Sangean. A more detailed review of both is on the page for the radio.

  • We purchased the Sagean RS-332 Powered Speaker for RS-330 Clock Radio and the RS-330 Clock Radio as a replacement for a many years old single speaker radio. This radio and companion speaker are a perfect replacement with the clock radio on one side of the bed and the companion speaker on the opposite side of the bed. The two alarms work well and the stereo sound is very good. Although, we had some problems understanding some of the instructions, now that we have figured it all out we are very pleased with the product for our purpose.

  • I love to sleep…who doesn’t, so when its time to wake up, I prefer a pleasant experience as well. This radio and companion speaker make a dual alarm system and stereo radio that wakes us both up at different times and with with our favorite music/news. I especially like the gradual volume increase as the radio alarm first goes on. It ensure you have awakened without a jolt from sleep.

This is a quality product with excellent sound, that has been in production for many years. Originally marketed under the Proton name back in the late 1980’s it is still available under the Sangean name.

This is the speaker slave to the Proton RS-332. I keep the master unit in my bedroom as a clock radio. I wanted a radio in the little office next to my bedroom, but I have two computers in there and I liked to listen to an AM station. The AM reception was awful. What to do? I got this speaker unit and hooked it up with the 18′ cord to the tuner in my bedroom. I hooked up a Turk AM Advantage antenna to the tuner. The speaker unit has full on/off tuner controls, but since the actual tuner is in the other room, the computer interference doesn’t affect the AM reception. What a concept! Works great!
