Will The Kindle eBook Reader Price Reduction Tempt You To Buy an eBook Reader?

So the pressure finally got to Amazon and the Kindle 2 ebook reader price has under gone a reduction. This was no great surprise, as once the manufacturing price had been leaked there was no place for Amazon to hide and with a reputation build on offering value for money, low margins and customer service the outcome was inevitable. What was a surprise is the size of the price cut. Couple this recent positive move by Kindle, which can only result in other manufacturers cutting the price of their models, with the ever expanding choice of ebook readers, and you have to admit there has never been a better time to buy an ebook reader.

The big question then is, and one that Kindle would like the answer to, will their Revolutionary Wireless Reading Device price cut be enough to get you to log into the Kindle shop, part with $299 and buy an ebook reader? Well the price cut has taken this particular digital book reader below the  $300 mark, that’s a full $60 below it’s launch price just six month ago, but only time will tell if this is enough to draw those fence sitters into the electronic book reader market. Here’s my thoughts on it.

You have to admit, when people do buy an ebook reader it is not because there is a massive need to, it is because they want to and when you want something price does not tend to enter into the purchasing decision. This is something that not only Amazon but the majority of consumer electronics manufacturers play on, and take advantage of…desire. And for me, here lies the problem for Amazon, and for that matter every company who want you to buy their ebook reader.

For many potential buyers, those who are looking, fancying but not diving in, $300 is still a very hard purchase decision. Yes they read, but to make that change and switch to digital book readers will need something more than an ebook reader price cut of fifty bucks. It is going to be very interesting to see how the other manufacturers react to this move. They will feel the need to maintain margins but still need people to buy their ebook readers. This could well result in an ebook reader price reduction, by one of Amazon’s competitors, that will really bring electronic book readers into the bracket of an affordable gadget, bringing it into the price range of the majority of book readers.

The coming months, the run up to the busy Christmas sales period, are going to be interesting, you can put your house on there being further ebook reader price reductions, hold onto your money for a little longer, wait for the right moment to buy an ebook reader but be aware that last Christmas Amazon sold out of their Kindle 1 model. So don’t wait too long to buy an ebook reader or some one might be left disappointed this Christmas day.

The Digital Book Reader market is a confusing place. E-learning Kindle eBook Reader

In the past decade or so, there had been many failed attempts at making our reading become smoother and faster. That’s until online book retailer Amazon came along and again made the difference in enhancing the reading experience, with a reading device called the Kindle 2 electronic book reader. In deft fashion, its extraordinary features for reading are complemented by its novel way of acquiring the very content. The Kindle eBook Reader is engineered to download blogs, books, newspapers, and magazines. Periodicals are automatically sent to the device. Technology has afforded us with a very practical alternative to holding a book, magazine or other reading material and turning from one page to another. The Amazon Kindle is indeed powerful and is only surpassed by its successor the Kindle 2. Unlike other funky devices, the Kindle does not require a personal computer to download its media. Furthermore, syncing is smart and automatic. This electronic book reader is equipped with internet capability through 3G technology on which the Amazon Whispernet service is rendered. This feature comes with the purchase of the reader so users don’t have to concern themselves with the wireless service plan, contract, or bills thereafter if you Buy eBook Reader Kindle 2. Whispernet is Kindle’s dedicated wireless network. It carries the delivery system of its e-books and other reading materials. The service is practically instant. Within a minute of placing order, users can be reading away. The first few pages of the books are also available for sampling before deciding to buy. This wireless feature is currently not available outside the country but it shouldn’t be for long as the Kindle is meant for traveling. Appearance-wise, this portable reader is as impressive as its capabilities. The crisp black-and-white screen could easily be mistaken for some fine-grade printed paper. The high-tech virtual ink is designed to be just like real ink-on-paper in terms of appearance and readability so much so that there is no backlighting either. Therefore, it would not be difficult to read in bright sunlight and the screen never heats up so you don’t have to limit how long you should be reading on that account. Furthermore, Whispernet makes use of Amazon’s optimized technology plus Sprint’s national high-speed (EVDO) data network for users to wirelessly search, download, synch and read content. The maiden Kindle Amazon eBook Reader has been further enhanced into the Kindle 2. By seriously considering user feedback on the original Kindle, Amazon is gratefully able to come up with an even more impressive wireless reading device for its readers now.

It’s not surprising that the Amazon eBook Reader is generally rated as the top Kindle eBook Reader device. We have the hard facts to show why.

Amazon Kindle For Ebook Reading

Electronic book readers are nothing new. Over the past decades, many have actually tried but failed, until Amazon that is. Ever since the Amazon Kindle, it’s actually groovy again to be reading. By and large, it is in vogue especially among the executive and academic ranks. Everyone would want one, for whatever reasons; work needs, status symbol, lifestyle and what not….. Whether you’re pro or against it, it captures your attention!

With the launch of Kindle 2 Amazon Book Reader has integrated the entire business of e-reading. The eBook reader is not only filled with smart features, it’s also connected and mobile just like the cellular phone. It is essentially a cellular eBook reader in that it has wireless coverage anywhere in the US for Amazon bookstores plus browsing text-centric websites like Wikipedia, Google and others.

Besides the good looks, the new generation Kindle is also flush with supreme functional features. The ergonomics is superb too, having been ironed out of whatever shortcomings the original version endured. This technological marvel has now been packaged into a thing of beauty and functionality with accident-proof buttons, smooth rocker controls, standard keyboard and stylish overall layout.

Although the Kindle is likely to attract quite a bit of attention, that’s not the intention of the design upon the reader. The objective was in fact to get the reader ‘lost in your reading, not the technology’. It has so gallantly replicated the feature of a good physical book to disappear while you’re reading it but can’t put it down except it’s now can’t put the Kindle down.

The most distinctive feature of the Amazon eBook Reader is the Whispernet. This is a wireless service for acquiring content and some degree of internet access. It also carries the Whispersync feature which links other Kindles and its associated devices such as the iPhones and iPods plus others in the future. When you Buy Kindle 2, Amazon will pay for the lifetime connectivity of the particular e-reader. The network is 3G-based so it doesn’t have to be in a hotspot to operate.

Most Kindle review sites will not fail to mention 2 things: the price and the size of the library. At a cost of the better part of $ 400, it could be steep for some but if you’re into reading, the 275,000 books available will beckon at a discounted price. Whether it’s worth the money or not is an individual thing and if Amazon has its way, any book that’s ever printed will have an e-version for the Kindle in future. That’s a lot of books!

The Amazon Book Reader was the preeminent e-Reader. With the Amazon Kindle Amazon has become king. Find out why.

Amazon Kindle How-to Series – Loading and Viewing Pictures on Your Kindle E-book Reader

Your new Kindle wireless reading device is great for holding e-books and audio books but did you also know you can display your pictures on your Kindle? Keep in mind that the Kindle has a gray scale display, not color, so the quality of your pictures won’t be great. But, despite that it might be nice to have a few of your favorite pictures for quick viewing on your Kindle.

The process for loading and viewing pictures on your Kindle is not entirely intuitive, but it’s not difficult for you to master. Follow the steps below and you’ll have more than just books on your Kindle.

1. Get a collection of pictures you want to load on your Kindle. These can be color images but remember that your Kindle will display them as gray scale images.

2. Use a photo editing program to reduce the size of your images before loading them into your Kindle. The Kindle screen can display a picture at a maximum size of 550 pixels high x 450 pixels wide. There is no sense loading large images – which will take-up a large amount of your Kindle’s memory – if the image size is limited.

3. Attach the Kindle’s USB cable to both your Kindle and your computer.

4. Once the screen letting you know your Kindle is attached to your computer via USB appears you can double-click on your computer’s “My Computer” icon.

5. Your Kindle should appear as one of the disk drives attached to your computer.

6. Double-click on your Kindle drive. You will see several folders. One for Audible books, one for documents, and one for music.

7. Add a new folder to your Kindle called “pictures”.

8. Open the new “pictures” folder and create one sub-folder for each of the groups of pictures you wish to load onto your Kindle. For example “Moms Birthday” might be one folder and “Summer Vacation 2009″ might be another. These folder names will appear on your Kindle’s Home Screen so make them descriptive.

9. Open each new sub-folder then copy the pictures you’ve collected into their appropriate folder.

10. When you are done take a look at your Kindle’s screen. If the USB activity indicator at the bottom right side of the screen is not showing any activity you can remove the USB cable from your Kindle.

11. Go to the Home Screen of your Kindle. Press the “ALT” key and the “Z” key at the same time to refresh your Kindle’s list of e-books. The screen will blink a few time – when it stops use your “Next Page”, “Prev Page” buttons to locate the new picture folders you created in Step 8.

12. Scroll to the picture folder you want to open then press the scroll wheel to select it. The folder will open and in a moment or two your first picture will appear. You can move through your pictures by pressing the “Next” or “Prev” page buttons.

Congratulations! You now know how to make using your Kindle even more enjoyable by being able to carry special pictures with you in your Kindle wireless reading device.
